How do I Extend My Lamp Life ?
- Never touch the bulb with your fingers, always use a cloth for handling. Fingerprints can cause “hot spots”
- Clean the air filters, blocked filters make the lamp overheat & the projector which can cause both to fail early.
- Always switch off using the remote control and not by disconnecting the power.
- Always make sure the unit is turned off and the lamp is cool before moving, a hot lamp filament is fragile and shock and vibration can cause lamp failure.
- If your projector is equipped with a “high/low lamp” switch, you can extend your average lamp life by using the “low lamp” position wherever possible.
How do I get the most out of my SmartBoard ?
- Always make sure that the board firmware is up to date (move to program files on your hard drive, click on the smart folder and locate smartfirmwareupdater)
- Always do a fine point orientation
- Always use the latest software and board drivers
Who do I contact if my hardware fails ?

My Projector keeps turning off by itself or the image is yellow, pink or looks like lots of stars?
Your projector is probably overheating due to filters not being cleaned every 100hrs of use. If the projector is switching off try cleaning the filters (this only works if it has only just started happening), if the image is pink, yellow or looks like the sky at night then the heat has either caused an LCD burn or a circuit board fault and the projector will either need replacing or repairing, DO NOT REPLACE THE LAMP AS THIS WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM!
I cannot get an image on the projector from my laptop ?
Ensure that the VGA cable has not got any bent pins and that you have activated the external VGA port by pressing the FN key combined with the correct F-key at the top of the keyboard (the F key looks a bit like two TV's)
